Inspired by Kiki de Montparnasse, french artist, performer, writer, model and muse as well as the toast of the town in 1920s Paris, the twelve pieces of fine art in my "Kiki" series all measure 9" by 12". They are multimedia art, combining pen & ink, colored pencil, and metal leaf. Created on sturdy multimedia paper, these are offered unframed; however, if you wish I will frame your purchase for an additional fee.
This piece, titled Kiki's Shadow, features Kiki's lovely face creating an imposing shadow which becomes the focus of the piece. Heavy gold leaf accentuates the background and starlet quality of her pose. Like each piece in this series, it is inspired by a photo taken in the 1920s by Dada photographer Man Ray, during the decade in which Kiki was his model and muse. I have chosen my favorites of her photos to reclaim and represent with a modern feminine eye and sensual sensibility.
If you are interested in purchasing more than one in my Kiki series, please reach out to me via email at: emailbombshellart@gmail.com . I will happily offer a steep discount on the purchase of more than one Kiki portrait.
Unless you wish framing by me, each piece of art will be shipped to you in a sunlight-safe sheath made of recycled plastic and in a non-bendable envelope. As with all of my items, shipping & handling fees are included in the price of the item.
